Train Tracks is a railway logic puzzle game inspired by nonograms (picross) and classic pencil-and-paper track-laying puzzles. Beside each row and column, clue numbers indicate how many cells contain railway track. Using deductive logic, you determine which tiles hold tracks, mark impassable barrier tiles with an X, and weave one unbroken, continuous railway connecting the departure station to the arrival terminal.
Every puzzle is built on three core rules: (1) The number beside each row and column specifies the exact count of track segments in that line; (2) The track must form one single continuous line connecting the starting portal to the destination; (3) The line cannot branch, make sharp illegal U-turns within a single tile, or form disconnected closed loops. Natural terrain features like water, bridges, tunnels, and ice add further logical constraints.
Never. Every single puzzle in all 100 campaign levels and all randomly generated custom puzzles is mathematically verified to possess exactly one unique solution. You can solve every board completely through pure deductive reasoning. If you ever feel stuck, the explanatory hint system is designed to show you the next logical step and explain why it must be so, rather than simply revealing the answer.
Yes! Train Tracks is 100% offline-first. You do not need Wi-Fi or cellular service to solve puzzles, customize boards, unlock trains, or replay levels. When your device reconnects to the internet, your campaign progress, stars, and unlocked locomotive collection automatically synchronize via your private Apple iCloud account.
As you conquer chapters across the 10 worlds, you unlock 10 legendary locomotives spanning two centuries of railway engineering—from early 1830s Stephenson-style steam engines and frontier 4-4-0s, to the luxurious Orient Express, the articulated Swiss Crocodile, European TGVs, Japanese Shinkansen bullet trains, and futuristic superconducting Maglevs. Once unlocked, any train can be deployed on the board and used in custom puzzle games.
Yes. The built-in Custom Game mode lets you choose your preferred board dimensions (from quick 5×5 grids up to challenging 10×10 layouts) and select difficulty levels ranging from Relaxed to Grandmaster. You can select your favorite unlocked locomotive and passenger or cargo wagons to accompany your custom journey.
No. Train Tracks respects players' focus and peace of mind. There are zero third-party banner ads, zero pop-up video interruptions, and zero artificial energy bars or wait timers. You can undo and redo moves infinitely, restart boards freely, and take as much time as you desire to contemplate each deduction.
